Wanna Neck? The Subtle, Simple Jewelry from Jane Hollinger is Perfect for Valentine’s Day

February 3, 2012

We’re happy to announce that Evantine at The Rittenhouse is now carrying Jane Hollinger Jewelry! Believe it or not, this young jewelry designer has been working with metals for over 20 years. She received a B.F.A. in sculpture and went on to create several businesses in the early 1990’s, which included custom metal pieces for interior designers with a small side jewelry business. When people on the streets started stopping to ask Jane where she got her jewelry, Jane Hollinger Jewelry was founded! That was in 1998 and Jane’s intent, then and now, focuses on making high quality, modern pieces that are not only extremely personal but classic in nature.

“I’m interested in the essence of an idea: of distilling an impression down to its simplest form. I view all things I see and hear as a possible resource for my jewelry ideas. A textile pattern, a piece of music or shadows and light are all things that have inspired my work. I love the idea that the jewelry holds special meaning to the wearer, and that many of our customers tell us they never take the pieces off.”  Jane Hollinger

Each piece is handmade, made-to-order by her in-house team using domestically sourced materials and metals that are carefully recycled. Jane uses Sterling Silver, 10k Gold, 14k Gold, Brass, semiprecious and precious stones, and to a lesser degree 14k gold-fill and vermeil. Although she’s known for her sweet hearts, flowers and starbursts, there is a wide range of designs to choose from.  So there’s a look for everyone!

REAL STORIES: A Gorgeous White and Hot Pink Catholic Wedding in Philadelphia

September 15, 2011

We recently met with an engaged couple who were guests at a stunning wedding we designed last summer in Center City Philadelphia. Lucky for us, the couple went on and on about the event they attended, remembering details and moments of the day that simply “stuck with them” enough that they just had to give us a call when their own engagement became official.  EXACTLY what makes us do what we do!  As we listened to them recount their experience, we realized, we never posted photographs of the wedding on our blog!  “You really should! It was so beautiful!” the bride-to-be said emphatically.  So, here goes.  A little look back on Mary and Joe’s gorgeous wedding celebration at the Catholic Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia.  [Photos by Ron Solimon] Read the rest of this entry »
