We Can’t Keep it to Ourselves, Our Flower Boutique is Moving!

March 30, 2016

Evantine Design Floral Shop and Gift Boutique is Moving to Washington Square Philadelphia

NOW YOU KNOW OUR EXCITING NEWS! Seems almost like a birth announcement, and frankly, it feels kinda like that!

AFTER TWENTY YEARS at The Rittenhouse Hotel, EVANTINE, our floral boutique and fine gift store, is moving across town to a BIGGER and BETTER location! Of course, we are grateful beyond words for the patronage and support of the residents of The Rittenhouse Hotel and Condominiums, as well as the Rittenhouse Square community. But it’s time to move on to something new on another square…

OUR NEW STORE will be located at 715 Walnut Street in the Washington Square neighborhood near trendy restaurants, swanky apartment buildings, historic townhouses, and other chic boutiques. Our new cool digs will offer more of what you love about EVANTINE, custom fresh florals and beautiful plants, as well as stylish novelty items and wonderful fine gifts for the home.

BUT WE’RE NOT OPEN JUST YET! Someday soon, VERY SOON! We promise. We’re still working hard, getting our amazing inventory on the shelves and our luscious flowers flown in from around the world. We’ll let you know when you can stop by for a visit. And, right about that same time we’ll be re-launching our EVANTINE DESIGN website! Everything at once! of course. Is there any other way?

Until then, watch for our updates on social media via hashtag #shopEvantine.

With much love and gratitude,

Brian Kappra, Creative Director

Okay, to know us at all is to know we’re not super keen on naming, following or obsessing over “trends” in the wedding industry. Oh sure, we appreciate the idea of them as just like Pinterest, trends reflect popular taste and what’s causing a stir among the bridal set.

However, we like to encourage our clients to follow the beat of their own tune, trendy, classic, traditional, wack-a-doodle, or not. For instance, if you’re inspired to embrace this year’s “color of the season” according to the folks at Pantone, aka Marsala, or as we like to call it, RED, then by all means, go for it. Our floral design team would be delighted to whip up a gorgeous Marsala bridal bouquet for you in layers of red, plum, cherry, burgundy, cardinal, crimson, ruby, wine, garnet, blood, oxblood, candy, current, merlot, scarlet, or whatever other name you want to call it.

To us, it’s all about YOU. And baby, that’s all that matters when you’re planning your wedding. {Well, that and a few other thousand details, but you get the idea.}

Colorful Leadership Meeting for ADP at Philadelphia Museum of Art

October 3, 2014

Corporate Events Philadelphia Museum of Art Evantine Design Floral Decor

Yet again, when a client puts their complete trust in the event planning team at Evantine Design, we are only too happy to tackle every challenge to bring to life the thoughtful, branded event they imagined. Earlier this week, we produced a rainbow of modern style for ADP’s Senior Leadership Meeting at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. As one of the nation’s foremost destinations in which to see world-class art, the Greek Revival main building of the museum is one of the city’s most prestigious venues for corporate events. Thanks to the tremendous talent of Horace Trumbauer and Julian Abele, the original architects of the building, the grand, formal nature of the museum gives us event designers much beauty to work with! From stellar, artistic lighting and special effects projected pn statues, walls and steps, to the innovative, urban-classical entertainment and branded decorative accessories, ADP’s meeting was one to remember.

But of course, as you know, we love to make a dramatic statement with our floral decor and this event was no different. Working within the traditional walls of the museum, we elevated the majestic spaces to modern times with contemporary designs that included long feast tables covered with green and white patterned linens, clean white table settings, and glossy white dinner chairs. Running the length of each of the dinner tables, we created centerpieces in custom-made white rectangle wood vases filled with low, lush ombre arrangements of flowers. Seasonal and exotic blooms, such as orchids, dahlias, hydrangea, roses, and tulips, were arranged in bright modern colors that moved from white to yellow, vibrant green, orange, magenta, red, plum, and purple. Striking, bold and yet perfect for networking across the tables.

All branded materials, from signage to menus, placecards and napkins, were orchestrated by our team to flesh out all the details into one cohesive event design. And, as mentioned earlier this week, we brought in the uber talented Black Violin to perform for the guests as yet another nod to ADP’s focus on innovation.

Knowing that it takes a village to make these types of events happen, particularly when produced in pressured, short time frames in public spaces, we thank the talented culinary team at Stephen STARR Events for their collaboration on the menu and food styling for the event.

FLOWERS: The Design Studio is Awash in Spring Flowers!

April 9, 2014

Can you smell that? If only we could share the delicious, sweet perfumes wafting from these sensational Spring flowers!

Truly, nothing beats arriving to the floral studio, the heart of our 50,000 square foot design studio and warehouse, to see the floral boxes stacked high with gorgeous flowers. Seasonal flowers shipped in from local growers and from flower farms around the globe! It can take teams of our floral designers DAYS to process all of the flowers, freeing them from their cold, tissue-beds, and welcoming them into the warm water to stretch their stems. They will all be partying hard in some of the biggest ballrooms in Atlantic City! Every bucket of blue Hydrangea, green Viburnum, pink Parrot Tulips, purple Tulips, coral Peonies, purple Vanda orchids, green Ranunculus, yellow and red Parrot Tulips, white Calla Lilies, yellow Daffodils, red Double Tulips, white Casablanca Lilies, plum purple Sweet Peas, and purple Lisianthus will be displayed to perfection in tomorrow night’s corporate awards gala at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. So many blooms, so little time…

WE LOVE: September Blooms

September 11, 2013

Fall Wedding Flowers Evantine Design Liz Banfield

SEPTEMBER WEDDINGS always seem to get the best of the summer blooms! Flowers that have warmed in the late summer sun, either intensifying in tone or fading into soft romantic shades that many brides adore.

This floral arrangement is just one of the many decorative displays we designed for a large tented wedding in the Philadelphia suburbs. As you can see, it was all about hydrangea, lilies, roses, berries and branches. It made quite a statement in the entrance tent!

BOUQUETS: The Beauty of Bridal White

August 14, 2013

Evantine Design White Bridal Bouquets Philadelphia Florists

For some clients, we create their bridal bouquet combining 7-9 different types of blooms together for a stunning textural effect with plenty of drama. But for far more of our clients, we seem to stick to using 3-4 flowers that blend together simply and beautifully into an artful floral accessory. After all, why over-complicate the glory of Mother Nature?

For instance, for a lovely bride hosting her wedding at The Westin Philadelphia, we created a hand-tied bouquet of just three beloved wedding flowers all in the same creamy white hue: Vendela Roses, Ranunculus and Dendrobium Orchids.

Simple. Elegant. Traditional. Perfection. What more do you need?
